Callsheet

The Callsheet is the digital running order for a show — a structured list of every cue in order, tracking exactly where you are in the show in real time. Cues are created and managed in Edit Cues, which is where all cue data needs to be set up before the Callsheet can be used.

Three views are available:

  • Callsheet — the main operator view. Each open instance has its own independent state by default. One instance at a time can activate Master mode, which broadcasts its position to all connected Client views.
  • Callsheet Client — a read-only mirror of whichever Callsheet instance currently has Master mode active.
  • Callsheet Unattended — a fully automatic display driven by timecode, no operator needed.

All three share the same layout: a sticky header with timecode and current cue, and a scrollable list of cues below.

The Callsheet is the operator’s tool for calling the show. Each open instance maintains its own independent cue position — multiple operators can have their own callsheet open simultaneously without affecting each other.

When one instance activates Master mode, it begins broadcasting its position to all connected Client views. Only one instance can be Master at a time. The operator confirms each cue after calling it, advancing the position to the next cue.

The sticky header always shows:

  • Timecode — double-clicking opens a quick note entry
  • Mode icon — shows the current master mode state
  • Wall clock — the current real time
  • Clock status icon — only visible when the timecode signal is unstable

If the current position falls within a defined scene block, the block name is shown prominently below the header.

The currently active cue is shown in a large panel below the block name:

  • Cue number and call text
  • Cue mode (e.g. timecode, visual, standby)
  • For countdown cues: a live countdown timer
  • Standby and call state indicators

When multiple cues share the same timecode, they are all shown together as a group.

The full rundown is scrollable below the current cue panel. Each row shows the cue number, call text, mode, timecode (if applicable), and current state. Block headers appear as dividers.

When Show Reference is enabled in preferences, each cue row also displays its reference text — lyrics, script excerpt, or other attached text. Within the reference text, **keywords** are highlighted in bold and underlined for quick visual identification during a call.

  • Space / → — confirm and advance to the next cue
  • ← / Backspace — go back to the previous cue
  • — advance to next without confirming
  • — go back without confirming
  • Shift+N — open quick note entry
  • Double-click timecode — open quick note entry

If Touch Controls are enabled in the menu, large on-screen buttons for Confirm and Reset appear — useful on tablets without a keyboard.

Timecode and realtime cues go through states automatically:

  • Standby — enters standby a configurable time before the cue comes up (default: 5 seconds)
  • Call — comes up at its timecode value, prompting the operator to call it
  • Done — after a configurable window (default: 1 second), auto-confirmed if Auto-Confirm is enabled

With Auto-Confirm off, the cue comes up and highlights as “call”, but the operator must still press Space/→ to confirm. This is the recommended setting for most shows — it ensures the caller stays engaged.

The mode icon in the header controls whether this instance is broadcasting as the Master:

  • Inactive (grey) — local mode; not shared with clients
  • Active (green, pulsing) — Master mode; all client views mirror this state in real time
  • Blocked (grey with slash) — another Master is currently active

Tapping the icon toggles Master mode. If another Master is already active, a confirmation dialog asks whether you want to take over.

When Master mode is deactivated (or the tab is closed), all clients show a “No active Master” warning.

Filter the cue list using tags assigned to cues:

  • Show Tags — only show cues with these tags (plus all block cues)
  • Hide Tags — hide cues with these tags
  • Skip Tags — treat cues with these tags as disabled (greyed out, not counted in navigation)

When enabled, the callsheet automatically resets to the first cue when timecode drops below a configured value (default: 00:00:01:00). Useful for shows that loop or restart from the top repeatedly.

A read-only mirror of whichever Callsheet instance has Master mode active, updated in real time. If no Master is currently active, a prominent warning is shown.

The Client can: follow the current position automatically (autoscroll), open a quick note entry (double-click timecode or press Shift+N), and configure display preferences (tag filters, timecode size/color, etc.).

A fully automatic callsheet driven purely by timecode. No operator interaction required.

Shows the full cue list with all timecode cues. Manual cues (visual, audible, feedback) are hidden by default but can optionally be shown as dimmed entries.

Automatically positions to the next upcoming timecode cue when TC starts, marks past cues as done, and resets when timecode jumps or restarts. Has the same sound alerts (standby/call) as the Master.

Useful on a secondary screen in the venue, green room, or any location where staff need to see where the show is without a dedicated operator.

All three callsheet views support quick note entry. Double-click the timecode display or press Shift+N to open a minimal note input field. The note is timestamped to the current timecode and saved to the default note list.

Both the Master and Unattended views can play audio cues for standby and call events:

  • Standby sound — plays when the cue enters standby
  • Call sound — plays when the cue comes up

Sounds are configured in preferences.

All preferences are stored in the URL and can be bookmarked for a specific setup.

  • Bookmark your setup. Preferences are stored in the URL — bookmark a callsheet with your tag filters and display settings to reopen it exactly as configured. Great for sharing.
  • Master mode on one device only. Activate Master mode on the stage manager’s device. All other open instances run independently and won’t interfere with each other.
  • Filter by tags. On a busy show, use Show/Hide/Skip tags to display only the cues relevant to your department or current scene.
  • Touch controls on tablets. Enable Touch Controls in preferences for large on-screen confirm and reset buttons — useful when calling from a tablet without a keyboard.
  • Take notes without leaving. Double-click the timecode or press Shift+N to add a note timestamped to the current cue position without switching pages.
